What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an age-old method of treating people for a wide range of ailments in the body, through stimulating and working with reflex points on the feet.

The primary premise of reflexology is that the body is mirrored in the feet, and that by working on the feet to help them regain their pliability, proper movement and balance, you are also affecting all parts of the system.

When an area of the body is in a state of malady, the flow of blood to that area is reduced due to contracted and upset tissue, muscles, etc. As blood carries oxygen, which brings nutrients for our body's cells, if this flow is interrupted, the tissue will starve thus leaving it more susceptible to disease.

Reflexology works as a result of increased blood flow. Reflexology re-kindles/reinstates the flow of blood to these areas, thus starting the natural healing processes of the body. This works on the premise of releasing blockages and increasing circulation to tissues, organs, glands, facilitating and maintaining improved health and wellness throughout the body.
